Plans for a visit

Hi Alex,

I am glad you will be visiting us. My name is Enric and I live in Banyoles. Banyoles is a very small town near a lake so it’s the ideal place for all kinds of sports. My school is outside of town and it has different buildings, depending on the age of the students. I think you’ll be fine with all the teachers and classmates. On the afternoon there’s tons of things to do, I go to handball training and take some piano lessons.

A cultural exchange

Hi John,

Nice to meet you, my name is Enric and I'm waiting for you to come to Banyoles in my house. I'm writing this letter to give you some information about me and where you're going to stay. I live in Banyoles with my parents, and my sister, Emma. We live in "Carrer Francesc Macià", in a condominium. Our apartment has got 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. There's a garden with a swimming pool, but we share it with all the other neighbors.

My school is called "Escola Casa Nostra". The school is kind of close, so I go there by bike every day. My school is very big and has a wonderful alley with fields around, like an old college. My favourite subjects are Physical education and Technology. I want to do something in law or politics once I finish school. How about you? What are your favourite subjects? As extra activities, after school I play handball and I have piano lessons.

I have friends in and out of school. Our teachers are nice, so I think you'll enjoy your time in school. I am very busy during the weekdays, because I have to take many extracurricular activties.

On the weekends, I uswually play on some handball match; I do homework and meet my friends in the afternoon.

The Surprise

Last Friday me, Mike and Joe were going to the cinema to see "El Mariachi". When it was my turn to pay my entrance, I realized that I had lost my wallet. Instead I had someone else's wallet in my pocket with the exact amount of money to pay one ticket. After a while I decided that I would return the wallet later. Just when I bought the ticket, people with cameras appeared from everywhere. It turns out it was just a set up for some reality show.

A new friend

My new friend's name is Jack. He's 15 years old. He is short and thin. He has brown hair and green eyes. He really likes sports, movies and going to parties. He dosen't like science, maths and going to school, he hates people being lazy and he's always doing all sorts of activities. He has a pug pet and his favourite hobbies are going hunting and paintball.

Hello Matthew!

We've been having great fun here in our holiday in the USA. We've been staying in the Circus hotel in Las Vegas. Our hotel has got a swimming pool, a rollercoaster and a circus inside it. There are lots of things to do, but going outside is impossible it's so hot!

Last week we went to some parties in some discos and we played a game of poker and blackjack (we lost both times). We've been having lots of fun but sooner or later we'll have to go to work.

Hi Michel,

My birthday is tomorrow so I'll be having a birthday party in the Planeta Magic. Can you com? It will be the best party ever! Everyone in my class is coming including your friends John, Lisa and Martin. The entrance costs 5$ but I'll pay for everyone. All you must bring is some snacks: crisps, peanuts or nachos. You decide.

Planeta Magic is very easy to find, just go down "Carrer de l'Industria" and you'll see a big pink and white building, there it is.
